Pastor Francis Chela

Pastor Francis C. Chela was born in 1959 in Lusaka, Zambia where he has spent a good part of his life.

He was born again in 1982 in Nairobi, Kenya at Valley Road Pentecostal Assemblies of God. Upon returning home in 1983, joined up with the Pentecostal Assemblies of God, Zambia (PAOG, Z) and became a very active member. During this period, he worked in a number of roles in the church including, Worship Leader, Sunday School Superintendent, Church Board Secretary, among others. It was during his working day with Zambia Airways, 1984-1993 that the stirring of God’s call upon his life became very real.

In 1992, the family moved to Botswana and it was while there that the call was answered. He completed his studies in 1997 at Assembly Bible College in Gaborone, Botswana with a Diploma in Theology, and the following year, 1998, he obtained a Degree in Theology from Global University, Dallas U.S.A.

From 1998 – 2001 he was back home in Zambia and established a church in Avondale, Lusaka under the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAOG, Z). In 2001 he again went back to Botswana and worked as an associate pastor in Francistown under the Pentecostal Protestant Church (PPC). 2003 – 2006 Moved to a town called Palapye and pioneered a new church under (PPC). In 2007, pastor Chela felt the call to go back to Zambia and to work with a home based church. As of November 2007, he has been working as an Associate Pastor with Capital Christian Ministries International and is active as Director of Christ Impact Crusade, spearheading the evangelism outreach program of the church. He is also directing the establishment of the Capital Christian Leadership Institute. He has a strong teaching and counseling ministry.

He is married to Fastina (a medical doctor) and has two children both boys, Chikombe (22) and Chamuka (19). He is about to begin his MA degree studies in Biblical Theology and Leadership.
